Love can be humorous

Throw out the clock and wind the cat
Blind, with the senses of a bat
She cuts the chase with every rat
Wind the cat and cut the cheese
Those down-wind fall upon their knees
Praying for a blessed southern breeze
Cheese spread with two whoops a hollar,
Second-hand ain’t worth a dollar.
Kick like a mule in my parlor
Two slurps a dollar, my moonshine
It wastes your body and your mind
Clean as a hound’s tooth . . . smooth, divine
My lifeline, an antsy angel
Who rapidly climbs at angles
From this hillbilly triangle
Scrape the moss off my fangs, she’s gone
The good Lord willing, hang my prong
Cat, cheese and moonshine come along
