Let's Talk Turkey

Sometimes the diner; others, the dinner.

Let's talk turkey!
Your compliments fill me--
truly I am quite stuffed, fluffed.
Condiments become me.
I'm laced, sitting pretty
waiting for dinner to commence.
Gobble, gobble, gobble.
Let's talk turkey!
I'm the talk of the town, don't frown,
all've seen me strutting around
making contented sounds.
Pass the berries around--
I've fame and fortune, yes me!
Let's talk turkey
even though you're bloated,
I'm being promoted.
On a platter well rooted,
the center of attention . . .
gobble, gobble, gobble.

I'm . . . uh-oh, yikes;
I understand.
I'm NOT a guest . . .
I AM dinner!

Not THIS turkey!

Hey, that's no fair.
You've plucked my hair
and cooked my 'goose'!

Fun read indeed, Sandra! I have a friend who lives in a farm. One of her turkeys acts like a kid, follows her everywhere she goes. They're beautiful creatures. Too bad some of them ended up on a dinner table. I will think twice about eating turkeys now.

Love this fun write.

Hugs,
Sandie Angel :o)
