What did the goose say
running 'round naked?
"It's my rotten luck!
I've been caught and plucked."
In the deep river
the goosey shivered.
"Quit clowning around
Lord and give me down."
It'd been a while
since Goosey had prayed--
and somehow he strayed.
Still, though God was busy,
he sent angels down.
Goosey wandered 'round;
they 'feathered' a hound!
"Didn't You hear me
Lord, begging Your mercy?"
They turned him "turkey"--
brown feathers, not perky.
Goosey, ungrateful,
responded quite hateful,
it was disgraceful.
Taken for turkey,
his innards were stuffed.
He still earned his wings
but was ungrateful for things.
"Move out of my sight!"
Goosey itched for a fight
and then was cast out.
He heard a shout,
"You didn't know Me
till you knew mis'ry;
you've earned no mercy."
What did the goose say
when tossed on his way?
"I'll lay eggs, gold, treasures,
if you'll just let me stay."
"You lie as We both know
but your down's on the ground."
"Yuk, I'm really plucked!"
