Big, red, swollen lips,
the sun kissed its' tips.
I'm allergic
(and it's tragic)
to the sun's rays.
Top lip touches nose--
swelled and then arose--
but still my lip grows.
It's a saucer,
a dinner plate . . .
WHOOPS! Popped! Too late!
Bottom lip to chin,
I can't force food in.
In fact, I barely speak
my voice a whisper, squeaks.
What a whooper,
where's the stopper . . .
WHOOPS! Popped! Too late!
I get some questions
'bout medications.
Someone's fantasy
is MY misery.
I'm allergic
(and it's tragic)
to the sun's rays.
I don't WANT big lips
so swollen that they rip!
I sup through a straw--
don't like THIS at all.
My reaction
is in fashion . . .
WHOOPS! Popped! Too late!
Kisses won't make it well
so I'm OUT for a spell!

Gee wiz .....now that's a bad day ! Great poem Sandra it made me smile, and smile and smile !
Ooogie, what an image. Reminds me of the sunburned upper lip I got on a trip to Canada. I was seven-years-old and miserable on what should have been one of the best times of my life. Hope your allergies die down soon.
OUCH. NOT good, sandra! sure hope you do feel better soon; sounds like you are feeling rather puny! your poem reminds me of the one i wrote called "allergy face", about a little girl named ronee' suffering from allergies. read it; it is rather humorous! think you'd like it! (((HUGS))) and love, your friend in texas, karen lynn. :( so it looks like someone popped you a good one in the kisser, eh?? poor baby....:(
