Free Toes

A huge corporate give-a-way
had folks lining up the highway.
I'd half-a-mind to get in line
but who on earth needs more Free Toes?
They wouldn't help my posturing,
but would surely take up more room.
I like my current packaging
and have no more time to groom.

The huge corporate give-a-way
lacked anything important to say.
People cloister for things free--cheap;
some would even sell their heart beat.
Folks left the line, crunching softly,
though a few seemed to be limping.
Why would they seek an addition.
With whom are these folks competing?

Some huge corporate give-a-ways
have turned inward, gone astray.
Ev'ryone is greedily preening--
materialistic ... grasping more.
I purposefully stomped on some feet--
hoping to send them a signal.
A hag extended her fragmented bag,
"Look, see, my Free Toes wiggle."

Gagging, clutched my mouth and ran away
from that horrid corporate give-a-way.
