An elderly woman who has forgotten more than she ever knew.

Poem Artwork

My forgetter has forgotten more things than I know I knew— ‘twas tweeked—‘tis what forgetters do. (I forget … do I know you?) What color’s this? Is it new? My forgotter’s getting better but do I owe you a letter? Am I ‘sat’ or babysitter? Is there a chance I’d splinter if I squirmed on my keister? My forgotter has forgotten— am I fresh or ancient, rotten? Am I allergic to cotton? My finger tastes so bitter perhaps it split with splinter? My forgetter got demoted! Am I pregnant or just bloated? Both my chins dip—I am ‘throated’— and my Adam apple’s Bob. Keeping my head up’s a job! My forgetter has forgotten more things than I know I knew. (I think my forgetter’s blue.) Am I hungry or been fed? Whew! I’m tired. Where is my bed?
