I’ll give you warts!

I'm toad away
I’m slick and primitive
but lack initiative …
so out of sorts
in these waters native
t’was toad away
had my own lilly pad
was a bachelor lad
bills … went to court
left there depressed, quite sad …
toad me away
I catch bugs now and then
in another’s green glen
my heart ceases, aborts,
with thought of ‘might have been’ …
