egads! the succinct stock. . . the caught briefly tear at the corner of an eye, themoment before it falls sweetly down a cheek.. . .you found a gem in the rock of the earth. .. .and polished it as only you could, so all its facets could be seen, sparkling.. . ..

This Makes My Heart Ache as I Have Read Into This Piece A Reality I See Here From Some Ol'Soldiers & I know the rest of the world has been witness to somehow & that is abandon & mental illness or shell shock as it may be called too & extreme things gone wrong on thier return too. I Would March With Him. I Know Everyone Is Saddened By War & All The Lives Ruined & Deaths...sorry to ramble...My Hand Is Over My Heart In The Peace Parade Of Hope

It would be nice if we could have a "peace parade" soon. I would like to be standing next to that old solider marching in place too.

Gene - I approach holiday poems, etc. with caution. I've read too many Hallmark poems. Thank you for a powerful image that honors both those who sacrifice and honors the idea of peace also. Soldiers who have been to war are the ones who value peace the most. - David

So many good poetry I have read about patiotic 4th of July and patriotism and heroes and tributes on the den today and I guess more will come over the next 3 days. Like them and believe the 4th should be celebrated this way by us on the den. Loved this write short as it was it says a lot. **********
