Ho-Ho-Ho, Gene! This makes me think of Mom, the only person I ever knew who REALLY loved fruitcake and rum sauce--especially with a glass of Scotch and water on the side. ;)

Sounds bleak: from Dickens Bleak House. It is a very difficult time of the year for most people. Don't believe the hype. Suicide rates sky rocket at Christmas. We here have notheing to do our respective families; too nutty and or dangerous for our taste. Instead we have pajama days and watch old movies and read or have a glass of something hot. This year we treated ourselves to a concert, Handel's Messiah, dinner with friends and a bottle of Absinth; legal in Canada. Hang in there friend, this too was meant to pass.

This brings back memories of drinking more than I should and a fruitcake that I want but can't find anymore. I don't remember what company made it either. Now that the juices are flowing, maybe I'll seek again. What is it they say, "Seek and you shall find."

I knew a Jamican fruitcake once, all liquored on white rum sauce too, man! Gosh, that sounds good. I am glad you posted this. I wonder if there is a recipe?

By the way, Gene, as far as your energy level goes, you write circles around me. Like your writing, you are timeless, and destined to be a classic someday!

Ole! LOL Poor Santa Claus. Fruitcake in this case might not be so bad. Well done, Gene: short and sweet!
