their march is no longer forced -- their destiny has played out -- no audible commands fall upon their ears -- the roll of drum, whistle of fife, is a fixed cadence that time repeats without end -- is it to wonder, a dove mourns atop silenced cannon -- Gene this is a most moving piece of work -- the imagination clearly places those departed warriors filing in columns along the road to eternity's battle fields -- you have introduced a perspective of solitude and commitment to those we must all honor on special days and routine days -- Independence Day, not the least of those days -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

An interesting and emotional write Williamson ...

3 8 4 4 6 4 ... 29 syllables. 2+9=11 Hmmmmm ....
And in context to all those that remain forgotten too. The number 11 is fascinating, multi-faceted, and means much. Below is a smattering of some of my favorite trivia concerning 11.

The sun spot cycle repeats about every 11 years.

Elevenses (in the Lord of the Rings) is a mid-morning refreshment such as tea and biscuits taken around 11am.

Now this is cool ... 11 is the fourth number that stays the same when written upside down. The first three are 0, 1 and 8.

Number 11, in some circles, has the qualities of intuition, patience, honesty, sensitivity, and spirituality, and is idealistic.

In a 12 Step Program, Step 11 is a step of meditation and courage.

A rocket must travel at over 11km per second to escape the Earth's gravity.

recently mathematicians have shown that up to 11 dimensions may exist in the universe.

11 is also a number of incompleteness, disorganization, disintegration, lawlessness, disorder, and the Antichrist

it is recorded that Jesus appeared eleven times after his death upon the cross

And the list is long. Bet you never realized how smart you are writing something so multi-faceted and thought-provoking.
