When lights are low, the music loud,
I stand unnoticed in the crowd,
creep into a corner of my mind.
I see you there, so near to me,
and you’re touching me unknowingly,
not knowing you’re a shadow on my mind.
When you look at me, never speak,
and pass me by without a peek,
I sneak into a corner of my mind,
where your haunting image waits for me,
and you’re touching me unknowingly,
not knowing you’re a shadow on my mind.
When nights are long in loneliness,
I close my eyes, see your loveliness
imprisoned in a corner of my mind.
Then I feel your face so near to me,
and you’re touching me unknowingly,
not knowing you’re a shadow on my mind,
I liked this evocative offering, especially the last stanza.
The me's and my's are the receivers
of much loveliness in this
exceptional poem.

this lovely poem
though touched with lonely
and a sadness to a bit of loss
deeply rooted to love
