I love the first snowfall when it covers the meadow like a blanket and all is clean and fresh I take my camera out and take beautiful pictures as I wander around the park close to where I live. I love to write about it too.
I PRESENTLY RESIDE IN GEORGIA BUT I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN NEW YORK CITY...AND I REMEMBER SNOW, INDEED. BUT I DO BELIEVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SNOWFALL I EVER SAW WAS IN WASHINGTON, DC IN JANUARY, 2010.THERE WAS A SNOWSTORM THAT SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING. I WAS HOMELESS IN A SHELTER IN SW WASHINGTON, DC AND I CAME OUT EARLY IN THE MORNING...TO BEHOLD A PRISTINE, GLEAMING WINTER WONDERLAND! EVERYTHING WAS COVERED...YOU COULDN'T TELL THE SIDEWALK FROM THE STREET. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING, ILL NEVER FORGET IT. NOW IM IN GEORGIA AND TO BE HONEST...IM SATISFIED TO TAKE THAT MEMORY WITH ME TO THE GRAVE. I DON'T MISS SNOW, BUT I DO KNOW HOW VERY BEAUTIFUL IT CAN BE SO I CAN RELATE TO THIS PIECE. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS WORK FILLED WITH GREAT IMAGERY AND PHRASES. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
There's always something beautiful and comforting about new fallen snow. It's after months of it when it gets all dirty and crusty, that snow longer has its charm.
Your poem paints a Currier and Ives right out your sunroom… Beautiful.
This is wonderful writing David! ....and like you I still get a thrill when it snows!
I love the very large flakes that fall so serenely and calmly...almost like a gentle meditation...and Sun on Snow just gives me a thrill that reaches deep into my soul...
How wonderful to sit in your Sunroom and have those enchanting snowy scenes....
The whiteness uplifts, and the silence tranquillises....
Perfect poem...!
Hugs,

I love the snow also. I get a real charge watching it on videos and such, but I personally fell out with the white stuff. I have lived in New York, New York, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Denver, Colorado. I have seen my share of the white stuff, besides I'm from the south, we don't get much of it down here in southern Louisiana, thank goodness. I am not knocking you liking all that snow, it just isn't for me.
O so lovely this is David Lee, the snow and to be able to enjoy the snow. Wish I too will be able to see things as you see them at your age. You are blessed. J K Roseline
