I was told of late, that I was played like a violin, herein is my answer to that statement...

Poem Artwork

Played Like a Violin…

Told I was played like a violin,

Ain’t that a shame, ain’t that a sin,

Here I be just tryin’ to make a buck,

As always seem to be down on my luck,

To the person that said that,

Go find & play with or f*** a duck…

            Oh Shucks…

Never do I mean to offend,

When I do write and ultimately send,

My roasts into this place called the Den,

Maybe my roasting should only be when,

The motivation does strike my pen,

So it should be then and only then…

So will do these roasts when I find the time,

And the motivation does present itself,

As then it will be on my own dime,

Not when anyone else thinks I should do it,

That is the way it is to be done,

No race, no force, that coming from the source,

Yes, directly from the mouth of the horse…

My friend, I agree writing cannot be forced. Someone asked me recently why I write sad poems all the time and to write a 'Happy' one. A poem cannot be forced , it has to be felt from the heart. I write better sad. That is just me.

And the motivation does present itself,

As then it will be on my own dime,

Not when anyone else thinks I should do it,

That is the way it is to be done,

No race, no force, that coming from the source,

Yes, directly from the mouth of the horse…

Excellent verses, my friend. Say Hi to Rufus:)

I can never see you being played like a violin, Ed. You're much too big.

Now, I can envision you being played like a huge Congo Drum, staked out naked, in the mud, in the campground. It's midnight, there's a full moon in the starry sky, Rufuz is howling, and dancing round the campfire, as eerie creatures of the night gather - and play you like a drum!
