Early Morning Mentations...(or did ya?)

Maybe not funny,
Given just to keep you sunny,
So your daily grind will not be, like eggs, runny,
While you are at work lusting after the god of money...ed

Early Morning Mentations…(or did ya?)

Did ya ever wonder what it would be like?

               To be a dike…

Holding back all that water,

Oh, you thought I meant a woman attracted to same,

That would mean of course that she must be someone’s daughter…

Did ya ever wonder what it would be like to say?

            Hey I am so gay…

Happy all the time or named the same, mostly ladies,

Oh there you go again, thinking I meant men who like same,

Thereby they would be guys who are quite the queen of the flame…

Where do these mentations come from so early in the morning?

Maybe from lack of sleep, do these thoughts come without warning?

Possibly from a mind so boggled during the daylight hours?

Just maybe they do come from a mind that is in constant mourning?

Think about all the words, all the words that spell the same,

But without the exact meaning, or changed to suit our game,

Nothing herein, so you don’t misconstrue ,

Is meant to hurt or inflame,

Just the miscellaneous mentations of an insomniac,

Sometimes he must just let it all hang out, or go completely insane…

Top to bottom, side to side, title, line by line... this is a doozy, Ed! Fascinatin' rhythm, r-r-r-r-rippin' rhyme... and mental 'meat' to chomp down on. You're a thinker AND a grinner, me sweet! katy xox.

What do you mean "or go completely insane"? You are my reference point that assures me that things could always be worse than they are. What are friends for? In my case, Ed, it's to keep you on your toes instead of always on your knees. On a serious note, I really enjoy your poems more and more. You seem to be spending a little more time polishing them nowadays. And on an even more serious note, blow me timbers! Ike, ike, ike, ike, ike!
