Acid

As humorous as I can get this early in the morning...

Acid…

Wasn’t like I ate anything bad,

Just some toast with jelly is all I had,

I got a small buzz, didn’t want to snack all night,

All I wanted to do was have something extremely light…

Still, after six hours it came back,

Sleeping on my right side it must in my stomach did stack,

I hate to see what my esophagus does look like,

Holes and burn marks from the stomach acid I don’t seem to lack…

I take a pill, prescribed, but over the counter,

For when my stomach and throat do have their encounter,

But sometimes it just does not cut it,

I have anyway early in the morn, a choking, coughing fit…

Nothing after six pm is the only way to go,

Not as easy to do, as it is to say, I want you to know,

I keep trying, eating lightly, nothing spicy,

But I am still on the road at that time,

And need some kind of sustenance, some dinner as it were,

My life of late it seems is getting extremely dicey…

I do and enjoy it better

I too suffer acid reflux, or something like that

Ed,

I know what you mean. Maybe someone out there can come up with bland junk food. (lol)
