Poem Artwork

Lead Paint & Drain O…

Growing up I had very little,

With myself, being a boy, I had myself to fiddle,

Never did grow that hair on my palms,

Instead I did eat lead paint mixing it with peanut brittle…

The kids today have all the luck,

They get it in mint the old days did suck,

As I got older I did learn to, well, er, uh, you know,

Still I got fun out of eating the paint off the walls,

Though it still did taste like that of muck…

So when you wonder how I got so insane,

It was, I guess, from eating the paint again and again,

Sometimes besides the brittle I even washed it down with a little O’ Drain,

Boy that stuff did burn on the way down,

But in the end it did to my bladder and internal organs maintain…
