I do certainly love to return shots...

Mired…

In quicksand after a flood,

Not even my prominence as a stud,

Can get me out of this mud,

Wired and tired though I may have been,

Tonight I do feel like non-explosive bomb; yes a dud…J

To the dentist on the morrow,

Antibiotics I did have to borrow,

No longer to I ache in the mouth,

Glad I am that that guy from Texas lives in the deep south…J

He knows who he is,

Though he sometimes thinks that he is a whiz,

At poetry he is better off drinking a slow gin fizz,

Or better for Rufuz to on his leg take a wiz…J

Yes, Steve, I do discuss you,

Till I am in the face blue,

Love to get picked on from the state of Texas Zoo,

Sooner or later you will get smarter or at least get a clue…J

I see there is a banter going on...funny, Ed. The best part is that you both have very unique styles of writing, both a step to the side of the mainstream...which is good, but ironic in a way...but not to worry, neither of you will be cutting in on the others poetic zone.

to my dear friend Ed,
for some reason
to this poem you were lead
but 'tis not the season
for such trite words to be said

for if be poetry
you seek to see
you need not look to thee
just read a poem from me

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
