Is golf a religion…?

To some I suppose,

To me I don’t like the clothes,

Dressed so pretty, smelling like a rose,

Addressing the ball, in the sun they are overexposed…

Dreams of the day when one plays for the PGA,’

Money and favors just to one round play,

They even do play when the sky is quite gray,

The club does attract a bolt from the golf gods, what more can I say…

Hauling around a bag of clubs,

Look out there in the bushes, a mother & her cub,

The ball gets stuck in a sand pit or shrubs,

Lose a stroke you do then off to the pub…

A game of little knowledge,

To join the course one has to pledge,

Built and filled in it was from a marsh with a dredge,

Personally I might if I played go over the edge…

When younger, I was working on a new house by a
golf course. Seems the golfers always lost their
balls near by the houses yard edge.
The edge was a little woody, and then there was
the golf green.
I came up with a sabulous idea and brought a
bunch of old light blubs to work with me.
My co-worker and I placed a few light blubs
by the edge. Kind-a hid the blubs a little,
but you could see they almost looked like golf
balls.
While working, we would hear. I FOUND MINE! and
a POP! and a lot of Cursing. Hee, hee, what fun.
We placed light bulbs out there all week? Hee,
hee. Had to even by some new light blubs too.
It was just too much fun. Wow, some of those
curse words. Rufuz, cover your ears!

Yes, to some, sadly, Golf is a religion. A religion that has much to do with the worship of money.

Amen to that Ed
I am a non player myself in a golf community
what thrill is it in hitting a ball
chasing it to hit it again
don't take much IQ to accomplish that
