Poem Artwork

No more long hair & beard,

No more acid washed down with beer,

A gut most of us got, big as a steer,

But we still smoke the dope without any fear…

We buy new pipes,

Our wives have all the gripes,

Why waste your money on dope,

Tis’ the only way most of us can cope…

We see pictures of ourselves when we were young,

Back then is when our bodies were considered hung,

We popped pills, snorted coke, & took many a toke,

And now to the kids we are just considered old folk…J

Yes indeed, Ed. Time has a way of flying by. I've always been a "wannabe" hippie. I had the long hair but I never learned the "finer" points that you describe here (LOL). Thanks for sharing, my friend. Love and peace,

Regis
