At midnight it fell on us like a ton of manure,

No difference did it make on me,

I was asleep at midnight but had to put up,

With the noisy neighbors who acted childishly,

Screaming, shooting guns, & rattling noisemakers,

Then there are those that had to on the phone call,

I would have given that all up for a few more winks…

No change can I see of our world outwardly,

Hey, but I got a shower & actually used soap,

That will make someone in Illinois quite happy,

Now to go out and spend some money,

Not too much but its gonna get cold this week,

Gotta get some insulation panels before I freeze a cheek…

So enjoy the first day of the New Year,

Try to live it and not worry or have fear,

Hope last night you did not drink too much beer,

Or right now you are having a hangover with little cheer…J
