LAKE VS. OCEAN…

a lake is a body of stagnant water,

algae growing on its surface,

hardly able to support a fish with any pride,

even men that “fish” if one call it that, in a lake,

never see the battle that can be had elsewhere,

might get  a better fishing time, in a bathtub,

so when thinking of fun, make no mistake,

the seashore is the place to go to enjoy a lot of fun…

ocean waves roll in,

breaking loudly on the shore,

smell of salt air, fresh to the nostrils,

sound of the surf, the sea birds, the beach in general,

all the place to be when swimming, fishing or just for fun…

a lake, unable to surf upon,

unable to take a wave to the shore,

unable to clear the nostrils of the dieing sludge,

part of the lakes bottom, old tree stumps as well,

only thing a lake is good for is to sit and watch,

oh my is that a wave? no just an errant turtle,

making its way home…

ocean is the way to go,

so you possibly get caught in the flow,

but never fear,

it will bring you back near,

to another beach not far south of the one,

you were on, again, so fun!

a lake, no self respecting fish would swim in, but some are stuck,

big “cat” fish, probably call them that as they are less than loyal, LOL!

better to just to them do what Alf does to cats, and that is to boil,

especially, when it is done with a bit of the local soil,

but you better hold your nose, when that first bite you chomp,

you will see then that the “cat” fish has little or no pomp…

surely one can see that an ocean fan has written this piece,

having never been in a lake, for fear of glowing in the dark,

I hope no one will take offense, as most lakes should have,

a large unclimbable fence to keep away those with little taste,

for they will have no taste left after they sample the lake water,

                                 so glowing…
