'tis a brand new day...
the first of a brand new year.
I greet it with good cheer...
'cause I am so glad just to be here.
Some four score and six years have gone
since onto this earth I came along.
It has been a long journey
through the dale and over the hill...
seeing many things, going many places
and doing many things.
But not without taking its toll
on the aging body and soul.
However...
the very fact that I was able to rise this day
and moan and groan about the
shape the world is in
and how the old body is wracked with aches and pain...
is a blessing for which I am thankful.
