The night stood still, I peered through the bedside window into the wilderness .
Through the darkness, as pace slowed down, only quietness prevailed.
Stray dogs barked to make their presence felt from marshlands beyond and waited
Mangroves spread its bushes all over the silent waters and gazed
Long legged herons flapped its whiteness sleepily as the night passed
A lone motorboat broke silence as it races across the jetty black.
The glazing sea lolls nearby plays to and fro curling up more of the shore
High tides rise, the sea prepares as it ventures out in a race.
The queen of the night flower bloomed to shower its heady fragrance as far
Only once each year at midnight it endeared to offer all of itself this day
The scent seeped into the dark sea breeze to fill the air with its magic spell before the flower will silently wither
Along with the flower, parting lovers opened to dance in unison with passion and abandon while the world stood still for the moment
Like Indian demigods in myth the two met to dance long but once
To celebrate their life of love for once
Giving like nature, timeless, happy, peaceful within
While the moon with the veil of cloud looked quietly on
thank you for sharing it with us will be back for more
This is going straight into my library to be savoured again and again....
What a lovely poem! Having to wait for that once in a life time impact is awesome. I'm impressed with your play of words. Keep the good work.

However, If you really want constructive criticism -- I would edit the grammar, and refrain from using, unnecessary, big words.
Thanks, It is nice to know you liked my work
