Yes, Yanks were liberators from the oppressive Nazis. And so many French men had been killed in both the horrendous World Wars. That sudden release of oppression was welcomed with a kind of sexual revolution. Henceforth, French women were considered to be much freer than American women.

In our neighborhood, two GIs came home with German war brides. German girls were just as willing to leave their motherland after losing most of their men to the war and the terrible conditions they had to endure at the end of the war.

i remember RandR's as well but mine were in a different time and place..the late 60's and Hong Kong and Australia..the women were similiar there as well
