The Hole Story
In days of yore meaning sometime before , paper was rare to be seen, Then news papers came, and changed the hole game, but about them I wasn’t too keen,
That black ink would run, and you could tell what I done, because all of the printin was there,
And because of that ink my whole back was pink , where Mama had scubbed my skin bare,
It really upset her, but then things got better, when Daddy had moved us to town,
We couldn’t complain, no more rocky terrain, it was easy to dig in the ground,
So us boys we all went, and set up a tent with a two holer flap for a door,
And this was all good , because now we all would, have comfort like never before,
Then when dollars were few, a friend he came through and sent me this Book of the Ages,
Dismayed at first peek, all them big words were Greek, but Man, it had three hundred pages,
Then along came ol”Sears , to our rescue for years, their big catalog was just dandy,
The pictures we’d skip and just use the script, cause them big glossy photo’s weren’t handy,
Then a real joyous shout, when the phone book came out, and they gave us the County selection,
Soft without ridge, and the pages were big, man this was almost perfection,
Then came the end, when Daddy came in, Mama jumped up and said, “I could kiss you!”
Cause there in his sack, was a twenty four pack, of double thick Big Toilet Tissue.
