Cowboy??
How many milk cows you got there Mister, well friend , two is all I have,
Ain’t the rest of them cows yours? Well yeah, but they ain’t milk cows, them’s calves,
Don’t they drink milk? Well yeah, I reckon that they do,
Then wouldn’t you say aknowin that ,they’d be milk cows too,
Well I never looked at it quite that way, but I reckon that could be true ,
Look I took a Cowboy course back east ,studied for a week or two ,
I,ve seen every John Wayne movie and every cowboy movie too.
I can easily see that, but with those chaps on backwards, ain’t they a bit rough on you,
Well I ain’t never saddled up, but that’s something I wanna do,
I’m really gonna be a cowboy, my whole wardrobe is new,
Yeah well now you really got me, with that big ten gallon hat,
I thought you was from Hollywood, all them Cowboys look like that,
Well reckon I might be cowboy dude but savvy I got a plenty,
But how come these cows all have horns, and that one ain’t got any?
The rancher looked to where he pointed, choked and spit out his Chew,
He said now look here feller with all that cowboy learning I’d surely think you knew,
But maybe you’re some forgetful and I’ll see what I can do,
Some cows we cut the horns off, the fighters and the ornary ,
Cause some of them ol’mossy horns’ll sure make you change your laundry,
Of course there’s them that’s naturally polled, they’re slick headed as our cook,
But I reckon you learned most of that in that there Cowboy book,
Then once in a while , there is a cross , and it never gets horns of course
But feller in this particular case, that one there is a HORSE!
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I see it now , but it’s hard to see from here,
Yep, I guess at twenty feet in a herd of cows a horse would disappear,
Well thanks now partner or pilgrim, I don’t know which is best,
I wanna ride to the way out yonder, where the sun sinks in the west,
If you wanta ride off into the sunset, that’s the way you gotta go.
But there’s lots of towns and stuff out there, like Stockton and Frisco
With a Hi Yo Silver as he drove away, I think I heard him shout it,
Maybe some where he’ll be a cowboy, but some how or another, I doubt it.
