The Wheelbarrow
That guy’s an idiot, that brought me here,
Left me outside, when the weather was clear,
That wasn’t too bad, till the rain came in,
But now I’m full of water, up to the brim,
My tire went flat, from the load I was under,
Has he got no brains? Kinda makes you wonder,
This guy could surely, use some more,
Not sure he knows, what I was for,
Didn’t take long, for me to find,
I was gonna haul crap, most ev-e-ry kind,
God No, I hope, not ever again,
He’s gonna clean, that ol’chicken pen,
Then one day, here’s a little Kitty Kitty,
Brown and yellow, he was so pretty,
His loving friendship, I could feel,
Until he peed, upon my wheel!
Maybe I’m bitchy, and shouldn’t complain,
but I’ll stink like pee, till we get another rain,
Comes the day, when I was through,
He got a tractor, and a wagon too,
Now I’m, sitting here, in a yard sale thing,
I just kinda wonder, what price I’ll bring,
Boy I was really pretty when I was new,
Now I look like something, the dog wouldn’t do,
Hey this feller’s old and crippled, and maybe I could,
Really get lucky, if he don’t see too good,
I was lookin at maybe just leaves and twigs,
But Oh God No, he raises pigs,
My bad luck’s back to a hundred and ten,
That damn cat’s done got outta his pen,
Reckon my wheel gets a shower again,
Well, My path’s been short and most-times narrow,
But whatta you expect from an ol’wheelbarrow,

In the beginning it got me thinking about that boat my twin and I spent so long making only to have our younger brothers store it right side up on those sawhorses without a cover so that it filled with rainwater and rotted the bottom out. I've seen a few old wheelbarrows that were rusted out to know that their job is not to store rainwater.

and put it away clean,
and every now and then,
a coat of rustoleum for sheen.
