Diary of a Shopping Cart,
Hey there just a minute lady, that guy had me first,
You didn’t have to push him and give me such a jerk ,
Oh No! What’s that with you? , A spoiled and ugly rug rat,
Covered with sticky candy, he’s sure a dirty brat,
Guess my luck done left me, never seen it all to beat,
You’re gonna put that nasty thing, in my basket seat,
Can’t you take that chocolate from him, stead of smearing all I’ve got,
Now I’ll be so nasty ,they’ll leave me in the parking lot,
Hey kid! Quit that jumping , it’s tearing me apart
I’m not a swing or rockin horse ,I’m a shopping cart,
Hey Lady ! watch out where you’re going, that’s a metal case you hit!
You smashed my two front panels and bent my frame a bit,
Oh God lady , come on now, four cases of soda pop.
With all them groceries that you got, my poor ol’wheels will flop,
I’ve been here, for over a year, serving all that came,
The good , the bad, the healthy, and the walking lame,
I was almost spotless, till you took me down this aisle,
I’ll be lucky after today, if I'm tossed in the local scrap pile,
Now It figures, there’s her car, a sight that’ll kill your day,
She piled her groceries in that wreck, and left me in the driveway ,
Helpless now I go to rolling, the wind just caught me gusting ,
I rammed the side of a new Corvette, the owner ran out cussing,
I’m jerked around with kicking toward the parking rack,
Now he’s throwing me in the dirt, landing on my back,
Here comes someone to rescue me, Oh for Glory be,
It seems they want to take me back, she pushed me under a tree,
She’s loading me up with lots of things, at least it’s cool and shady,
And that was my start, as a shopping cart, for an old Bag Lady!

Here in Houston a favorite graveyard for homeless shopping carts is on their side halfway in the water at the bottom of a concrete bayou.
You get more creative with each idea you have for your poetry.
