From the wife's perspective.

Wishful Thinking

Laughter is a tranquilizer that has no side effects ,
But Lord I’ve got a husband ; and you talk about defects,

When your hair was thick and curly and you were oh so handsome,
Wish I’d ran my fingers thru it, while you still had some,

All of your recent photo’s show you old and, gittin fat ,
I wish I could remember, when you didn’t look like that,

I’d get your medication but your memory’s for the birds,
I wish you could remember just how to say the words,

I got this magic skin cream, don’t remember , where or at ,
It had to do with wrinkled skin, or gittin rid of fat,

Said If all of you is wrinkled, rub it on a little part,
But when there is no little you, then where do I start?

That doctor said you’re eatin wrong, you need to change your diet ,
You said you’d never ate left handed, but that you would try it,

That broken down recliner that you say just drives you crazy,
I don’t wanna get a new one, you’re already way too lazy,

And what about your over sleeping, You said that it would end,
As soon as daylight savings started somewhere around ten,

I finally, said you’re losing it, but you insist you’re not,
You said you can’t remember,--- anything that you forgot!

Well I reckon now that does it there’s nothing more to say,
Let’s go back to the laughter, maybe that will make my day!
