The Professionals
A laugh every day keeps the buzzards at bay, but the doctor won’t treat your ill,
When stuck with a fever, he won’t fix that either ,if you don’t pay your bill,
Most times these professions, really have obsessions, about getting their money on time ,
But they’ve gotta know, healing comes slow, and sick, you don’t earn a dime,
Sometimes you can win, but I’m still askin when, I get a black cloud everyday,
I try to play fair, but it don’t get me there, I’ve gotta find some other way,
Now you take this fat plumber, a real five star bummer, calling me a cheap skate and louse,
You talk about a rip, wants me pay for his trip, and he’s too fat to get under my house,
And that fire inspector, I had to reject her, a typical college egg beater ,
A State government hire, thought I started a fire ,when I turned on my electric heater,
I got an inspect permit, for a swimming pool bit, and we dug out the site pretty big,
State sent this lost soul and he’s standing in my hole , wanting to know where I’ll dig,
Good God now I quit , I took a big hit, on taxes this last ending season,
They jumped up a lot, I’d been zoned a boat dock, they said that, this was the reason,
I quickly requested, they should all be arrested, or placed in a home for the blind,
Their error I expect, will take years to correct, God I hope there’s not more of this kind,
For years here I’ve been, since I don’t know when, and these idiots still can’t understand,
Them ain’t umberallas and beach towels you fellers, them’s cactus, sage brush and sand,
But that weren’t the worse, I was in for a first, I’m losin what little brains that I’ve got ,
There in my drive , guess who arrived, A County Supervisor towing a yacht!
