The Trade

The Pastor from a local Church was out for a bicycle ride,
He came upon an angry young boy standing by the roadside,

The lad was cursing, words that brought the Pastor instant sadness,
“What son can the problem be ,that causes you such madness,?”

"I wanna trade this blankety blank lawnmower to some jerk,
It’s almost new but I can’t get the son of a B to work”

“Well son , our church needs a mower, I’ve got this bike I’ll trade, “
The young boy brightened up and soon the deal was made,

The Pastor said , ‘Son you must give up anger and sinful words,
Once I too , was prone to repeating every curse word that I heard,

The teachings of the Church has brought me peacefulness and truth
As a pastor, I gave up all those cuss words of my youth,”

Son, I can no longer even remember the cursing I used to do,”
“That’s Ok Preacher , keep pulling this damn lawnmower cord and it’ll all come back to you!”
