Some ice is too thin to walk on and at times I live on the ragged edge.

Married Maybe?

Herein I disavow every word that’s in this maybe,
Cause everything I’ve written might be used against me,

Did you ever think with marriage what might come,
First thing to hit your noggin, is your loss of ol’freedom,

You didn’t have the benefit of a Paul Revere
With a loud Beware! the Preacher’s coming, here!

Well you gained a beautiful partner that only had one flaw,
And that was the Warden, called a Mother in Law.

Lucky you was, if with your bride, she didn’t come along,
Not all guys get that break, they’re doomed with the wedding song,

Memories of marriage, here are things to contemplate,
I really can’t support them all, my marriage would be at stake,

They say it offers three category’s inmate and divorcee,
The third is known as a Paul Revere, it’s called an escapee,

Now how come married women are heavier than single girls,
There’s a reason overlooked, that’s common round the world,

Don’t take my word for it, but I’ve heard it said,
It has a great deal to do with time to go to bed,

A single looks in the fridge then goes to bed a little later ,
A married looks at what’s in bed and goes to the refrigerator,
,
Thank God Darling I didn’t shoot, dreamed I was single once again,
And with all that face stuff and hair rollers, I thought you were breaking in,

Silent treatment like in prison ,yeah we got along great this week,
I guess I shouldn’t have said that, it’ll end our peaceful streak,

She said, if you have finished your sentence, here’s a new one you might borrow,
Darling you’ll need a new Bank account, our divorce is final tomorrow!

Methinks you have covered the grand estate of marriage quite well, foibles and all.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
