Here is a story I thought deserved a poetic mention.

Telephone Line

Scientist digging in New York city discovered a relic of our time
It had been buried a hundred years and was a telephone line

Naturally, they were proud to state and have the media show,
New York city had telephone service one hundred years ago,

What a piece of history, it was buried ten feet under
Here was fact that New York City was an American wonder,

Not to be overshadowed LA County began digging
Lo and behold at twenty feet they found phone line rigging

Hey now, here was proof LA had telephones two hundred years ago,
Maybe they had been planted but who would ever know

What a boon to the pride of LA archeologist’
They could now easily claim, the first service to exist,

But out there in Wisconsin lived a self made engineer,
He determined that maybe down at thirty feet phone lines would appear,

He claimed that three hundred years ago at thirty dirt feet down,
That the earliest of communication had been there in his town,

His digging proved quite difficult, no one had ever dug there,
And to his disappointment, the hole he dug was bare,

But not to be disheartened and leave his followers in distress,
He claimed three hundred years ago , Wisconsin was using wireless.
