To Steal a Hat!

Murphy was not of the Christian class
Priest was surprised, he came in for Mass

Said glad you came , what have you done,
Your attendance here in church, is none,

Father I am desperate, you see, I lost me lovin hat,
And McGennis wears one, exactly just like that,

So while I know it is wrong to be stealing,
You've gotta understand my desperate feeling,

I know that McGennis stops and always hits the hat rack,
That big wooden one, that’s by the door in back,

Father can you one time just overlook this maybe,
Cause while you’re doing Mass, I can easily bag that Baby,

Murphy you must know, I can’t condone this sin,
Today, I’m doing the ten Commandants, you better just listen in,

After church there sat Murphy in the McGuinnis Pew,
Murphy what happened, did my message frighten you?

Or did that commandant “Thou Shall not Steal “ really ring your bell?
You decided not to steal or you would burn in Hell,

Murph said No it was “Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery” and you see just after that,
I suddenly remembered, where I left me hat!
