So nurse, what’s the biggest problem with nursing and rest home stays,
Well it’s the many injuries at the cross isles and the hall ways,
.
The patients all seem to look for means to brighten up their day,
And they are innovative, I really have to say,
Wheel chair racing and playing bumper cars are the things we really dread,
The many wrecks and injuries were putting us in the red,
Every possible caution and solution we -had to try,
But men think they are NSASCAR drivers, win or die,
They ignored our warning sign’s, now covered with graffiti,
And used our wet floor signs for posters of Petty and Andretti,
We tried at all the cross isles every safety that we knew,
But the injuries kept a coming, there was nothing we could do,
We finally got a lucky break with measures that we took,
We hung out pictures of Marilyn Monroe, now every patient stops to look,
Well how about the women’s ward , with all the wheel chairs that they own ?
Oh , that was easy, We just hung out a telephone !!
I never thought of a nursing home as a demolition derby for wheelchair drivers, but...why not? It would give the old-timers something exciting to look forward to. You could also take out your frustrations on those you didn't like by smashing them to smithereens. Yes, I like your thinking.
If you wanted to spread the rumor you use to tell a woman, now all you have to do is text a phone and the rumor goes viral on its own.
I was thinking of donating my 27-year-old electric wheelchair to a nearby assisted living home. But after your description of how they race with them, I'm beginning to think that I don't want to contribute to the growing trend of hall racing.
Why just yesterday, a noted area doctor, decided to trust his Tesla while he may love to one of his beautiful assistants in the backseat, only to find that the car got over excited at what was going on and took off at breakneck speed right into a tree and flaming wreck. The good doctor's found out, the hard way of her husband's indiscretion.
As your poem proves, giving oldsters technology to get around in, may turn out not to lengthen their lives, but do shorten them by cutting their legs off.

PS. I had many a harrowing situation in my various wheelchairs akin to what I've seen in movies. But thankfully, while I was on the precipice a few times I never willingly drove off the trail into the Grand Canyon or into the local bayou like some have.
Hah! Clever, Tom! However, Ralph Nader, that paragon nadir of vehicular crash safety, would probably have issued an emergency recall on MM, given the tendency of her nether chassis to wobble unstably while making forward progress at certain speeds and the imbalance that existed between her upper and lower frame structural members, LoL! :) I can, however, state uncategorically that her remarkable early, pioneering 'pneumatic air bag' anterior, upper torso system would definitely markedly lower the risk of crash injuries among reckless speeding oldsters in nursing homes! Thanks for the chuckles (as usual).
