Yes , sometimes the hearing is this bad. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Julie’s Claim

The judge is hearing Julie’s claim,
So be quiet Margaret, this is why we came,

The young folks jumped up hugged and kissed,
Margret said, Harold, what was it I missed,

Nothing Margret, the case he’s throwing out,
I can hear you, you don’t have to shout!

What’s in the case that he could throw?
Damnit Harold, I would like to know,

Please please Margret ,I can’t tell you now,
Harold you dummy , I didn’t ask you how,

Margaret ,please , I think he’s wrapping up the trial,
Harold what’s he wrapping up? that’s gonna take a while,

There’s dirty dishes waiting back home you know,
I don’t get it , was this the early show?

Margaret , it’s the Court procedure They have to be on time,
Harold , I never knew getting pregnant was a crime,

That worthless Johnny Powers, was cheating on his wife,
Our poor little Julie , he’s gone and ruined her life,

Margaret please, it’s hard to hear, I don’t know what was said,
You gotta talk louder, Harold, my hearing battery’s dead,

The lawyer guy is talking, Johnny’s DNA don’t match,
Oh my God, Harold , what did Johnny have to scratch,

He’s such a nasty person, do we have to watch,
I never did like Baseball, they’re always at their crotch,

Margaret Please, it’s almost over, we’ll be getting outta here,
Harold damnit speak up, you know that I can’t hear,
Some dim wit’s playing music, it’s that Time of the year,

No,no Margret that’s not it , you didn’t hear what I was saying ,
That’s the ringing in your ears, not a Christmas song that’s playin,

Who’s that Johnny’s kissing ,I never saw his wife before,
Looks like both of them now are heading for the door,

I’m glad he’s not the Father, he’s uglier than sin,
I wonder now where our sweet little Julie’s been?

Margaret I hate to tell you it’s not that boy from Keeler Ridge,
I thought it was that tattooed vagrant living under the bridge,

But, it cain’t be the vagrant, that bridge has been destroyed,
God, I hope the baby’s father is gainfully employed,

Julie seems quite shaken, I wonder what that’s all about,
Harold, Julie’s not herself her nicotine patch, is wearing out,

Margaret please, let’s go, the claimant hearing has been denied .
Damnit Harold , I already told you, my hearing battery died,

You’re gonna have to talk louder, you’ve messed up everything, in sight,
You keep talking about my hearing, what about poor Julie’s, plight,

Your hearing’s not the problem Margaret, Julie’s problems never end,
My God I hate to tell you, but she’s pregnant once again,

Damnit Harold speak up, what you said I just can’t hear,
Margaret, you might try listening with the other ear,

It’s time to consider the cost of child support and care,
Yes Harold my dress was costly but I needed one to wear,

Seen with you is bad enough, I cain’t believe I came,
Harold I never did hear, what’s the baby’s name?

Margaret , I cain’t remember, I’m gittin bad as you,
Harold she’s got to change it, I never liked your brother Hugh,

Every family’s got a Black sheep, but he’s worse than all the rest,
A stinking alcoholic, sober three days at his best,

Margaret I didn’t say the baby’s name , you didn’t hear what I said,
Harold , let’s not argue, Damnit I told you my battery’s dead,

Yes dear Margaret, I think I badly need a breath of outside air,
Slowly Herold walked out shaking his head in sad despair,

Saying, the father should bare the cost, it’s his responsibility,
Oh, that’s wonderful Harold, I’ve always loved the name of Billy!

I think poor Harold is badly in need of a drink! Make it a double. After writing this ,I think I need one myself.

Okay, I wear hearing aids too, and I know what it's like not to be able to hear. Best to stay out of crowds and stay out of trouble. But it's also okay to talk about people with disabilities as long as they're in on the joke and not the butt of it. Keeps them from feeling sorry for themselves. Thumbs up for this poem.

I gather they were having a hearing. So both Margaret and Harold have a hearing problem, in more words than one. Making this a very interesting read. Combined with a a randy daughter who has had sex with everybody including a brother, who probably should have been named Randy to keep the double entendres rolling.

As usual, I didn't laugh. I have a hard time laughing at disabilities like hearing loss. But I certainly got a chuckle here and there from how they were hearing at the hearing.

Your longest, and perhaps, your bestest.

Ron
