A Real Westerner
Guess I’m gittin lazy, getting recliner syndrome,
I spend too much time just thinkin while I’m here at home,
Every time I see a problem, tomorrow’s good I reckon,
I gotta big to do list, but that front porch glider beckons,
Oh, and here’s the best part, my wife is really neat,
That butter pecan ice cream service can’t be beat,
She has aired a problem though in some uncertain ways,
I gotta get off my western kick or she’ll shorten up my days,
Ok, Ok, I says, just let me get this chapter done,
The outlaws robbed the bank , but I got’em on the run,
My hero’s horse ol’Lightening is really, really fast,
He’ll catch those dirty low down dogs just short of Eagle Pass,
You won’t believe the gunfight, my hero Dan can’t miss,
He’ll shoot down all the outlaws , then give his horse a kiss!
Wife said, Mister you have a problem, no one believes that past,
The days of Gene and Roy are gone, better make that book your last,
If I see your computer’s up again, mister you better slam it!
You’ve been watchin too much John Wayne and my name ain’t "Pilgrim" damnit!
