Grave Yard Digger

Our local Grave yard’s digger was a working wonder,
He promised me a bargain dig if he could do me under ,

But he went on strike for union scale and was quickly fired,
A cremation outfit heard and just as quickly he was hired,

Things were really stacking up and they needed help with rigging,
I think they miss read his Resume’, the miss read word was digging,

Some folks you know take what is given and fix it up a bit,
They make the changes needed and find a better fit,

Next thing I heard he’s CEO of a business going, strong,
Well, I knew ol’John was good but it ain’t been that long,

I sure gotta give him credit though, I knew he was a fighter,
I heard that he’d invented the push button Bar B Que lighter.
