STAND TALL

In midst of despair and sorrow
Rise buds of hope for the morrow.
Still standing upright and strong
Against all that can go wrong.

These are extreme times of confusion and change,
Media expanding over a broader range.
We are attacked by sounds from each direction,
Leaving no time for thinking and reflection.

These flowers know what’s real,
They go by what they feel.
Away from the hustle and bustle,
They grow wild without any tussle.

A day to clear my cluttered mind is all I need.
To recharge my battery is what I should heed.
I’ll recharge in a quiet place like this.
A zest for life is what I dearly miss.

I loved the imagery of the present and the sense of looking forward. A great poem to read and re-read.

As the metaphor of the image implies, those poppies stand tall in spite of the shifting tides. And then your poem talks of standing tall but ends with a morass.

I would suggest little steps in the right direction that each day get longer, and pretty soon you have fire in your engines and a zest for life again.

Sometimes you just have to go off the grid. Turn off the tv and radio, and take a walk in the woods to recharge.

Your heart is a renewal object that renews each time you breathe, love your writes, they are a perfect blend of bitter sweet, tinged with new hope for tomorrow, love it, have a great day, dear lady,

One benefit of living where I do is that I am "away from it all". The desolation of the desert has its compensations. Fine poem.
