It's Nikola Tesla, the Serbian-American electrical engineer genius playing with the climate from somewhere in the blue beyond, the master of lightning himself. Looks like the roots of a lightning tree, too!

Lightning certainly knows no bounds with its exuberance. Almost playful in the way that it dances around in the clouds and strikes the earth. But the sound tells us, sometime later, that that beautiful light show was hitting something with tremendous force (primarily the air) and that acrid taste in the air was nitrogen dioxide created by lightning fusing oxygen and nitrogen to fall to the earth and replenish the land.

I know what I just said is too technical for your poem, but it has a beauty all of its own as far as deadly lightning is concerned.

I love to watch lightning, from a safe place of course. The sheer power of lightning, along with its own beauty, is amazing to watch, as well as frighting at the same time.

Yes! I love your description of lightning, Susanne. As a child on the northern prairies of Alberta, Canada, lightning was a spectacular visitor every summer. Here, on the west coast of BC, lightning and thunder are no longer regular visitors. Love and best wishes,
