Where is My Dick Tracy Wristwatch?

Where is my Dick Tracy wristwatch?
Where is my Flying car?
Where is my computer brain implants,
So I don’t need to go to school?

Whatever happen to my self-drying suit?
Whatever happen to my summer home on the moon?
Whatever happen to Rosy our Robot,
who would serve me a martini after I took the conveyer belt home?

To people in the past this future would seem pretty lame.
No molecular transportations,
No daily shuttles to Mars,
We still drive our cars on the same roads they use to.

All right I’ll give you that our computers are really neat,
2 Gigahertz is nice but can it take the dog for a walk?
We are still stuck here on this rock we call the Earth,
Only still are there few who floated in weightlessness.

The way it’s going, in the year 2102,
People will still be driving automobiles On the ground, down Interstate 95
They may look different, but their tires will still touch the earth.
Cell phones might have pictures at last and fit on your wrist,
(But I’m not holding my breath.)

Yes, I admit we did get some things right,
We haven’t blown ourselves up in a nuclear apocalypse…yet,
We didn’t have a big brother in 1984
Man is still man, not a planet of apes.

But still, I want to know…
Where is my Dick Tracy wristwatch?
Where is my flying car?
