So its Sunday I notice the orange horizon seems lazy
This early morning as I sit in my garden with a wasp
Everything does go into rest on this day, it’s so peaceful
Pastel carnations dance about in my gaze whimsically
Yes this morning you can feel the Lords work around
I wonder do the animals hear Angel’s songs beyond me
The plants all fall into the scriptures silence, wondrous
What voice tells them in their knowledge it’s a day of rest
I guess I know this answer inside or is it out in my energy
The wasp lazily looks in my eyes as he buzzes by me
No fear here we are at one in this garden in peace
I lie back in the grass and watch creation rest a bit
Because you see …..
Its Sunday in my garden and the orange horizon seems lazy
You writings bring peace to my heart. This story is such a profound write and makes me want to go sit outside right now and look at the bees buzzing around the flowers and enjoy nature right now.
What a wonderful concept of a garden being lazy on a Sunday. I never noticed, but now I will.
I am blessed with a rose garden of 57 bushes and many other items, such as plumeria, gardenias, camellias, red-leaf banana plant, hydrangea, bird of paradise, and a tall weeping willow tree. Every day I'm there working and enjoying, and every day I am certain that it is one of the most peaceful and restful places on earth. As for me, even when working in my garden, I feel at rest. Perhaps I've developed a "Sunday" attitude.
Thank you for your lovely words and unique insight.
Theresa, I enjoyed your poem, and all of your insights of the creatures' communion with God, especially the wasp. Poetic structure-wise, I liked the tie-in of the end of your work with its beginning. With your peculiar sensitivity, you might like my short story, The Secret Tillie Knew. Please excuse me if you've already reviewed it--can't see it from here.....Jerry
Softly comforting spiritual write that allows us a little glimpse into your private soul spot.
