Just a day dream gone wrong...lol

Old Farmer Fee

By: Fee

Old Farmer Fee rode that old John Deere

Down the lane to open field

The sun was blessed the rain was fair

And he hoped for a decent yield

Now the country life to a city boy

Seems like the grandest thing

He smiled a little wider still

When he heard his singing sheep

The chickens joined the chorus

In a bass voice good and deep

Farmer Fee gave a little clap

Holding tight to his tractor’s wheel

Then the old gray mare in an alto voice

Neighed away to keep things real..

And the barn cats danced a two step

As the one eyed dog the fiddle played

And Farmer Fee envisioned Nashville stage

With bright costumes pearl inlaid

Well all the world was fine or so he thought

Till that cherry top with the flashing light

Followed him down that bright green field

In a slow motion race of delight

Farmer Fee just park your old John Deere

you won’t be going home tonight

That tobaccie that you’re smoking in your pipe

Is a small example of your planting seed

Then Farmer Fee I have to read your rights

You are smoking last year’s demon weed…

Ooooops... weeds are always "demons" ;0) as well as any farmer's nightmare, indeed! Didn't those cops see you were rendering the land a great service? LOL! But you look absolutely great on that tractor, a very distinguished gentleman-farmer, sweet Fee!
Lots of love and {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} from fellow-farmer in Portugal,

Felix,

You had us following around this happy "city boy" turner farmer. He seemed so content. Loved the ending, when all his euphoria came from his crop of weed.

LOL Cute write, Fee, and don't YOU look all special on your John Deere!! LOL You remind me of a neighbor we used to have in Ohio, who was a retired farmer, and he had a tractor, too, only his was green. He used to give us rides on the tractor. I still remember that even now! I still miss him!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
