We grew up weary of war It left a bitter taste We suckled a daily formula of blood and smoke Courtesy of Walter Conkrite in a leisure suit A helicopter's whirl lulled us to sleep We found no balm in our dreams Just technicolor re-runs: Napalmed villages A burning monk A naked girl screaming through the streets of our unconscious Gunfire woke us at dawn Dead boy soldiers lay in our pabulum We went to school hungry for peace Someone PLEASE just shoot the peacock! We grow old weary of war. ��

Something wrong with our logic that war brings peace.

This is powerful. Another man said that perhaps we should not be thinking of ending this present war or even the 30 or so that will come after it but the idea of war. Now that is something to think about. End the idea of war. Wonderful write.
