Putting Plants in Perspective

The longer I live, the more I can give.
The more I grow, the less I seem to know.

Poem Artwork

So little is known of the plants of the earth.
We do know that some species live long past our birth.

Most think that a flower or a tree can be cut down without any pain.

But if to die without a tear is sane, perhaps we need to think again?

Land surrounded with plants can cool the air by several degrees.

Plants produce oxygen, so let’s protect what we have please.

How do we know if a plant does not have a soul or a heart?
Perhaps we need to study life again from scratch.
For all life deserves a second look!
Perhaps even a band new start...

There is much we can learn from plants to aid in our own survival as a species.

Hooray. Let us plant more plants. One potplant is better than none.

Sorry Ron, This poem is not talking about natural death. That natural death I agree is a fact of life. However, so is survival because we all have to eat something. However, we know that almost all animals feel pain just before death. That does not stop us from killing animals in order to eat. The point is we think plants have no feelings which could be right or wrong. This poem is just questioning that theory. It's thinking beyond the box and above the norm. Now I hope you understand, it's a little unusual but it's still a valid theory no unless until you can absolutely prove it wrong. OK my friend?

There is no Band-Aid or rubber band solution. If plants are alive, then they have a life force, and that is to survive. in northern climates, they either die completely every year and are reborn from seed, or have a survival mode like trees and plants whose roots survive the winter. Like all creatures, including men, they were meant to be cut down by the weather and other creatures to keep from over populating and becoming weak from inbreeding. Such is the nature of life. Always selecting the best for survival. We should not lose sight of that.

Ron
