She trained him in about four days to eat out of her hand. The other squirrels run away if she comes out on the deck.

Little Boy

Little Boy is quite squirrely,

his tail is so very curly,

he comes every morning surely,

to get his nut breakfast early.

To say he is scared,

would understate his fear,

but he can't resist,

a Texas pecan held near.

The favorite food of,

South Texas squirrels,

he just can't resist,

like we, cheese curls.

So, he ventures inside,

to eat out of her hand.

When he nibbles her finger,

she just can't stand.

But offers him breakfast,

when he comes around.

Other squirrels only get birdseed.

They don't know what he's found.

FOUR DAYS....MY, THAT IS QUICK I THINK. SHE MUST HAVE A VERY GENTLE AND KIND SPIRIT, THINGS THAT ANIMALS PICK UP RIGHT AWAY...SO, 'LITTLE BOY' TRUSTS HER COMPLETELY. IF THAT'S AN ACTUAL PICTURE OF HIM...IT'S A GREAT SHOT. LOVED IT, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

How cute! They know where all the kind people are and they would stop by to have their treats.

We used to have a family of robins build a nest right outside of my daughter's room window. It was truly amazing to watch the family grow. While the mother would go out everyday to search for food for the young ones, the father would just sit there on the wire watching. He was letting his wife do all the work. Hahaha!

How adorable is this? It reminded me of the stories my grandmother used to tell about the two orphaned chipmunks her brother once found and raised as pets. To hear her put it they were both little scamps full of mischief. Years later her family (including my mom) had a pet groundhog named Chuck who was extremely gentle. Unless you made the mistake of giving him one green bean and expect him to go away happy.

A pecan eating squirrel, How lucky. we've go two birds nests built in the beams above our rear patio that do nothing but fly back and forth pooping all over, so bad we cannot even eat outside, and can't get rid of them 'cause Bonnie don't want to hurt the baby birds.

I give them one more week, then it's the high pressure water hose.

Birds be gone!!!

I love those guys dearly!!! I call them my acorn buddies because they are my buddies.. I adore how they love to tease my dog as they run up trees and mock him! They are very clever.
Enjoyed Ron. Hope all is prefect in your world ):

A carpenter brought a half-grown squirrel to my house, and my two grandsons fell in love with it. I’m sure that was his plan all along. They begged the carpenter for it until he relented, and they ended up doing the same thing with me. The boys overplayed the squirrel until it died. The only thing left to do was have a mock funeral and burial, just like we did when the chickens and other animals died on the farm when I was growing up.

We thrill when such animals in nature take notice of us. It feels like being loved.

Know these kind of moments, as I've my own squirrel who runs atop my backyard fence to his box I keep filled with nuts. Like you, my guy knows he's got what other squirrels do not.
