He was . . .
Up until
A micro-second of instance in some anonymous rice paddy
Awareness coalesced
And he Bled
Spurting God’s cherished being
Ubiquitously
I was frozen
Stunned into inaction
Mesmerized by his face
And I gaped
His initial look of shock and awe interchanged with inevitable denial
And as he fell . . . the echo of the one shot
Ringing in finite conscience
He smiled at me in truth
Then
He was not
Life is so precious and short; you have captured its fleetingness.
