Continued lampoon of the evolution debate.

My friend the Monkey Man told me he was taking
a hiatus to go to the Galapagos this summer.
Said he wanted to experience first hand the flora and fauna
that inspired Darwin to write Origin of the Species.

I wished him well and bid him bon voyage

When he came back he was all a tizzy,
ranting like a lunatic, telling me his trip
confirmed his belief in evolution.

“How so? ”, I asked

“All the animals are different, you know,
like, they evolved to suit their environment.
Take Darwin’s Finch for example. There are
thirteen different varieties, all evolving from one finch.”

When I asked him if there were any monkeys
on the islands,
he said “Yes, of course.'

So, I had to ask, “How many varieties
of humans did you see? ”

Then he snorted and bit me.

Alternate Ending

When I asked him if there were any monkeys

on the islands,

he said "Yes, of course. Why".

"Were there any humans"?

"Well, yea, but they aren’t native

to the islands".

"So your telling me that on the evolutionary

pinnacle of the world the monkeys weren’t smart

enough to make a man"?

He still snorted and bit me.
