Lightening flashes

Through the midnight sky

And thunder rolls and rumbles

As rain batters

The cabin’s tin roof.

The power is out

So I sit in the glow

Of antique oil lamps,

My pulse pounding

As I exult

In Mother Nature’s power

Even as I jump

At a particularly violent flash

Of blue-white light

And the instantaneous

And deafening roar

That follows.

It’s hard to believe

There was a time

Many years ago

When I feared

A storm’s drama.

When did I grow

To love them so?

A beautiful Nature poem
I love a passing storm with all the sound effects
makes me feel I am blest when I am that is

We feel most alive at the heart of natures chaos. I remember watching many violent storms and driving blizzards. They are always fascinating to watch and hear, but I never loved working in them. I've done that most of my life too. Good read and well done verse Rebecca. Bob
