Madame Nature's fury erupts
In wildly stormy seas,
In the insistent, raucous cries
Of the cunning raven,
In the savage mauling of
A maddened mother bear.
When awakened
She takes no prisoners,
Picking and choosing
With impunity
Whom she will take and
Whom she will leave
To stumble amongst
The ruins
Stunned, frightened,
And wondering,
Why, O God,
Why?
Most of mother nature's fury is simply nature doing what it is always done, reshaping and re-ecosysteming our earth in an ever more diverse environment for life to flourish. Unfortunately, while we humans can think and can have a vision of the future, we often think short-term and expediently while our candles are burning on both ends. When catastrophe strikes, it's good for people to have a God to blame for their misfortune, or at least ask the question.
Explore the mystery of how nature makes unexpected gifts of creative wonders to an unsuspecting caregiver one late night and early morning in southeastern Georgia, USA.
A book of nature inspired poems and essays, written from the heart and soul of a life-long nature, animal, and wilderness lover, and dedicated to today’s children - Earth's only hope for a better tomorrow.
